The opening ceremony of the CINEC Jaffna campus at KKS Maruthanamadam Jaffna was held on Thursday October 21 at 10.00 am. The Guest of Honour at the occasion was Mrs. Rubani Warathalingam, Additional GA of Jaffna. With establishing peace in the region and the country it is apparent that a higher education boom is happening in the Jaffna peninsula and establishing a CINEC CAMPUS in Jaffna is sure to benefit both aspirants and the higher educational arena in Sri Lanka.
The Colombo International Nautical and Engineering College, known as CINEC nestles in the picturesque suburb of Malabe. Established in 1990, CINEC bears the unique distinction of having won four distinctive quality awards: ISO 9001 Quality Assurance Standards , ISO 14001 Environmental Standards, OHSAS 18001 Occupational Health and Safety Standards and, DNV Maritime Academy Standards which speak loud and assure the superb quality standards of the scholars/professionals produced at CINEC.
