The touring England Women’s cricket team led by the most capped ODI women cricketer Charlotte Edwards have lived up to their expectations in the matches played so far.
The England team having already taken the two matches ODI series is in line of making a whitewash in the three match T20 series as they have already won the first encounter with the minimum of fuss.

Of course the prevailing weather is going to be crucial for the remaining two matches with the second T20 clash due to take place at the NCC ground today.
On the other hand the Sri Lankan ladies led by Shashikala Siriwardena will no doubt have to put in a better display than their first T20 encounter played on Friday.
England skipper Edwards who mentioned after their comfortable eight wicket victory that the side played their best cricket of the tour will be looking forward to perform in the same pattern.
The England team comprises the combination of youth and experience which has been successful which will give them the confidence for the Ashes clash against traditional rivals Australia due to be held shortly.
They might not take the risk making any changes while according to reliable sources there would a few changes in the Sri Lanka side which the team will be announced on the morning of the match.
In the first encounter the batting of the Sri Lanka team was much left to be desired as the consistency was lacking. Apart from skipper Shashikala and Eshani Kaushalya in the top order and later Deepika Rasangika and Sripali Weerakkody the others failed. Later the bowling too lacked the penetration for players in the caliber of Edwards and Laura Marsh who both had things their own way as the duo scored at the rate of just seven runs an over before recording the win with 26 balls to spare.
So it’s going to be a daunting task for the home team to prevent the England ladies from securing their second win. Likewise the visitors will be coming into the game with a load of confidence and will no doubt be looking forward to carry the first match performance for this encounter.
