World Cup tickets on sale now

Tickets for Sri Lanka’s game against Australia, at the ICC Cricket World Cup next year, are selling like hot cakes and supporters will need to move quickly if they are to avoid disappointment, the ICC Cricket World Cup Secretariat in Sri Lanka reports.

The day-night encounter between the previous world cup’s finalists will take place on March 5, 2011 in Colombo and is the 20th ODI match of the tournament. Reservations for the 12 games in Sri Lanka are underway and the organizers urge the public to make their bookings early. Reservations can be made in Kandy, at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium, and in Hambantota, at the Mahinda Rajapaksa International Cricket Stadium.

In Colombo, fans can visit the official ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 Secretariat at the Sri Lanka Cricket Headquarters (35, Maitland Crescent) for ticket reservations. Tickets can also be purchased online at www.iccevents.yahoo.com.

Ticket prices range from Sri Lanka Rs. 30 to Rs. 2500, with corporate enclosures available for Rs. 5,000 / Rs. 10,000, with any individual permitted to purchase a maximum of four tickets.
