Hatton National Bank (HNB) men and women’s teams have entered the final in the A division in the Mercantile Badminton Team Championship continued at S. Thomas’ Indoor Stadium yesterday.

Only three teams entered the men’s category and HNB will meet Sampath Bank in the final scheduled for today.

HNB beat Seylan Bank 3/1 while Sampath Bank also beat Seylan Bank 3/1 in the league round. The HNB bank team comprised of Lochana Fonseka, Hashan Anurudha, Lakshan Silva and Sanka Illepiruma.

The Sampath Bank team comprised of Ishan Udaya, Hasitha Chanaka, D. Bandara, Amila and Tharindu. The women’s A division category saw HNB ‘A’ and MAS Holdings enter the final where six teams participated.

HNB beat Seylan ‘B’ 2/1, beat HSBC 3/0, and Seylan ‘A’ 2/1 in the league round. MAS Holdings also won their three matches over Seylan Bank ‘A’ 2/1, Seylan Bank ‘B’ 2/1 and HSBS 2/1. HNB will now meet MAS Holdings in the final today.

The HNB team comprised of Nadesha Gayathri, Nadika Nilmini and Madusha Dissanayake.

The MAS team comprised of Amali Amarasinghe, Ruchira Gunathilaka and Heshani de Silva. (TBR)
