President praises DLF’s role on eve of party convention

The 4th annual convention of the Democratic Left Front (DLF) will be held at the National Youth Services Council Centre, Maharagama at 9 a.m. today.

It will be presided by its General Secretary and Minister Vasudeva Nanayakkara. President Mahinda Rajapaksa in a message to mark the event, congratulated the DLF, on behalf of the SLFP, and thanked it for the support extended to the Government in its post-war development work.

“You have been of immense support to us in safeguarding national resources in the wake of pressures exerted by imperial forces,” the message said.
