 The Provincial Limited Overs Tournament ended on Wednesday with Kandurata winning the title. Interestingly at the end of the tournament the organizers had realized that the top two contenders for the Man of the Tournament were the hunted duo of left arm eamer and the left arm spinner who both opened batting for the respective sides now.
Dawning upon this fact the authorities had quietly decided not to give away that award but only concentrated on the other awards that were given on the aftermath of the tournament.
The excuse given by the authorities was that there were no noteworthy performers during this Premier League Limited Overs Tournament where the elite of the Lankan cricket talent was also in the fray.
 A spot of bother
It looks as if a top man in a certain sport is in a spot of bother. It all happened when this guy spoke on the idiot box he said that a certain court order is out of text. Now some members of clubs in the sport are coming strongly against the statements made by this individual and are planning to file action against the person who said these words.
Badly let down
A top sibling is very angry that matches are not going to be played down south. It was anticipated that somehow or the other the new venue will get at least a game or two. Now this top youngster is angry that no games are to be played at this venue and he is going about berating the officials of this sporting body for this let down.

Tenders have been called to upgrade a certain stadium in Colombo. However amounts quoted for the upgrading is so stupendous that the people in charge are having second thoughts about it. It is said that if this body does not get the chance to upgrade the stadium the company concerned will not be able to pay their salaries even.
Bothered by calls
A certain top sibling is bothered by telephone calls from individuals of a certain top sport. What they want to know is what will happen to them after the big event. The calls are so annoying that the top sibling is wondering where things will end up.
Sweet music
The decision not to play cricket at a new venue down South is sweet music to a visiting foreign team. This particular team had early experience of this venue and say that they are willing to play a friendly game at the said venue but not competition game. Let’s see what will happen. |
