As the excitment and the expectation of the World Cup 2011 will rise day by day, more and more Cricket songs have come to the music scene from popular stars of Sri Lanka, dedicating their songs to our Cricketers.
Chandani together with her other vocalists of C & C Marlon and Jacqualine have come out with a new song on behalf of the Sri Lankan Cricket team. The song was written by a renowned lyricist Aruna Kithsiri and the melody and music composed by the young talented Thilina Ruhunage.
The song is titled as ‘Singha Naadaya Rawde’ and vocals done by Chandani, Jacqualine, Marlon, Clifford Richards and Thilina R. The visual directory of the song was done by the Tharaka Baddage.‘We have done this song mainly to boost the moral of our cricket team and there will be no financial gains expected from the hit. Thanks to our sponsors, we managed to put it out in very short period of time and I hope cricket fans would like this new song’ said Chandani.
‘The years 2011, so far was a good year for the band’ she said. Chandani with C & C starred the New Year’s Eve at Colombo Hilton Residence Hotel and it was an immense success. The dance was accommodated by an unexpected packed crowd. With The dawn of year 2011 the band C & C head started their career journey in January by playing in numerous wedding ceremonies as well as other functions.
Amongst their busy schedule of work, in the month of February the band flew to Oman to gear their strengths in music to the Sri Lankan Club in Oman. ‘As everyone is aware that the ICC Cricket Tournament is held in Sri Lanka, everybody’s in high spirits in boosting up the energy of the Sri Lankan Squad. So this is our contribution to the National Cricket’ she added.
