Phones and shoes confiscated

Customs officials have confiscated a large stock of mobile phones and shoes estimated at Rs. 1.2 million. Originating in Qatar and Dubai, the goods were brought into the country under 21 different importers’ names.

The confiscated stocks, detected at the Customs Orugodawatta terminal on Friday, included 8,550 mobile phones and 6,000 pairs of shoes.
