England May 7 -- Unwanted Sri Lankan all-rounder Chaminda Vaas came up with yet another champion performance when he shone both with bat and ball in Northamptonshire’s five-wickets win over Kent in their English County Championship game at Canterbury, here today.
Vaas bagged 2 for 70 in Kent’s first innings score of 280 and then came up with knock of 66 with nine fours in 132 balls to help his side to make a massive 493 runs in their first innings.
The former Lankan seamer was among the wickets in the second innings too. In Kent’s second innings Vaas captured 3 for 70 in 19 overs to restrict them to 320 run this time. Northamptonshire chasing 108 for a win achieved their target after losing five wickets.
