Launching of the annual academic magazine of the Department of Commerce and the two day workshop (Guest Seminar) for the benefit of A/L students who will be facing the GCE A/L Exam in 2011.
The society of commerce (COMSO) attached to the Department of Commerce is in the process of publishing the third edition of its annual magazine “Vanija Arunalu 2011”.
The magazine will consist of articles relating to the A/L commerce stream subject matters, based on the 3 main subjects;
Economics Accounting Business Studies
written by reputed lecturers of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura who are involved in the matters of paper settings and paper marking.
The magazine will be launched on the 1st day of the “Two day workshop” and will be available during its course.
Students from many reputed Colombo schools are expected to be present at the event; nonetheless we warmly welcome other individual participants as well.
This event is a CSR project and is mainly funded by generous sponsors; and we invite Companies and Educational Institutions to support us and grab this great opportunity to fulfil corporate social responsibility as entities of the society, since this sponsorship is for a development programme conducted for the benefit of the youth of Sri Lanka, namely-A/L students- the future leaders of our country.
The main outcome expected by the hosting of this event are:
To provide the A/L students with the opportunity to attain confidence in facing the examination.
To cultivate knowledge which will come in handy when sitting the examination.
To develop skills in writing proper answers for the examination.
