 A leading sports body was to hold its AGM but it was postponed. The reason for this postponement is that a certain official seeking a post in the body has never taken part in the sport. It is a well known fact that officials seeking posts at sports bodies should have represented the sport at national level. This official however had taken part in a two wheel race recently to prove that he is of the athletic mould. His efforts had fallen short as he had been unable to finish the race and had taken a short cut. The officials in charge of the event could not even trace where he had got to. So much so for the would be two wheeler!

A leading sports body so very much in the news these days is gearing to go for elections. The talk is that the interested parties are planning to get a top sibling and a former sports minister to occupy key posts so that they can help those who are aspiring to be in the top rung of this body’s most sought out sport.

A top sport indulging is self defense activities had earned Lakhs 76 as its yearly income. The strange thing is that its expenses too are of the same limit! Who is trying to fool whom?
 Something better than nothing
There is a light at last at the end of the long tunnel where volunteers worked hard at a recent big event in Sri Lanka. The chief organizers in UK had sent monies to the tune of $100 a day to be given to these volunteers but no word of it to date. Then the organizers had even sent gold coins and certificates to be distributed amongst this dedicated lot. Now it seems at least the certificates are to be given out sans the money and the gold coins. Something is better than nothing says these volunteers.
No massage
A ladies sport is very much in the talk these days. This body has got a masseur to attend to the lady players but it is the wife of the coach who is getting massaged all the time! As a result the real lady players have no chance of being treated for their aches and pains. What is the world coming to? |
