Spend a weekend with local writers, photographers

June 11 and 12 will be "A Weekend with Sri Lankan Writers and Photographers" at the Singhalese Sports Club. The brainchild of Consultant Paediatrician Dr. Asoka Thenabadu, the event will see two days packed with insightful presentations by leading writers and photographers.

Dr. Thenabadu who has returned to Sri Lanka after 35 years in the UK hopes to give the Sri Lankan public an opportunity to hear good speakers on interesting subjects like wildlife and our heritage.
The distinguished line-up includes Bradman Weerakoon, author of "Render onto Caesar" - speaking about his experience and long service with seven Prime Ministers and Presidents of Sri Lanka, Ashley de Vos on "Ancient Sri Lankan Libraries”; Sarala Fernando, former ambassador on "Gardens of Sri Lanka"; Anouk Illangakoon on Dolphins and Whales; Malinga Herman Gunaratna, author of "Suicide Club" and Juliet Coombe, author of "Around the (Galle) Fort in 80 lives".
