Tribute to leading art teacher

Cora Abraham was an outstanding art teacher - she was ahead of her time in her belief that each individual should have the freedom to express her or himself in their own way, without undue interference or instruction from a teacher.

Today, the Cora Abraham Art Classes keep alive the memory of this exceptional art teacher. Mrs. Abraham's birthday falls on May 28. One of her many grateful students, Noeline Fernando, has, with the approval of the Board that runs the school, arranged for her headstone to be consecrated by Rev. Dr. Mervyn Fernando at a small ceremony to be conducted at the grave site at General Cemtery, Kanatte, at 10.30 a.m. on Thursday, May 26.

Past pupils and friends are all invited to attend.
