Arpico Plastishells Ltd has introduced a Green Gas Unit in Sri Lanka to households, hotels, restaurants, manufacturing plants, large scale businesses and SMEs which can produce Bio Gas through organic waste, the company announced this week. A company spokesperson was quoted as saying that it is estimated a total 1-7 hours of gas could be generated and stored with minimum effort in these new “Green Gas Units” which come in 1000 litre- and 5000 litre –units.
Organic waste is stored in the unit to produce the Green Gas, and users would additionally benefit from the liquid compost, which is a by product of the system which can be used for agricultural and gardening purposes. Sunil Liyanage, Managing Director - Arpico Plastishells Ltd said that as a result of the stringent research and development by the group’s R&D team, “we were able to identify an opportunity, which helps both our consumers as well as the environment.”
