Elephant presented to Devinuwara temple

An elephant was donated yesterday to the Shri Vishnu Upulwan Devalaya, Devinuwara by President Mahinda Rajapaksa.

The elephant, called Lasanda, was brought down from the Pinnawala elephant orphanage. Among those present at the presentation were the Minister of Transport, Dullas Allahapperuma, the Minister of Agriculture, Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena, as well as the former Minister of Fisheries and Posts and Telecommunications, Mahinda Wijesekara. A website on the temple was launched to coincide with the occasion.
