ICBT launches BSc and MSc in QS in Dubai with SHU, UK

ICBT Campus together with Sheffield Hallam University (SHU) UK launched BSc and MSc (with RICS accreditation) in Quantity Surveying and Project Management in Dubai on June 3.

These programmes are delivered in Dubai through an innovative combination of seminars and comprehensive web support from UK, presenting a unique opportunity for thousands of local cum expatriates who are involved in Quantity Surveying, Construction and related industries to obtain globally recognized qualifications.

Launching cum Information ceremony was held in Dubai with the participation of the Consul General of Sri Lanka for Dubai and Northern Emirates, Mr. M.M. Abdul Raheem, Professor Dr. Paul Watson and Neil Hanny of SHU, CEO Executive Director of ICBT Campus, Mr. Mohan Pathirana, Attaché (protocol) Sri Lankan Consul Dubai, Mr. Amal Dasanayake and a large gathering of industry professionals and prospective students.

Speaking at the occasion, the CEO of ICBT Campus Mr. Mohan Pathirana said, ICBT campus is the leading private sector higher education service provider in Sri Lanka delivering qualifications in association with leading British and other Universities.

ICBT Campus pioneered the delivery of world recognized programmes through this delivery mode and has been offering a British Higher National Diploma (HND) in Quantity Surveying over the last few years and widening the scope of qualification potential to a British BSc and MSc with RICS accreditation.
Professor Watson and Mr. Hanney said that Sheffield Hallam is a prestigious and large University based in Sheffield UK and has a rich tradition of delivery of a wide range of programmes producing students who are sought after by employers from all over the world.

They further added the delivery mechanism is designed for students to gain the same learning experience as on-campus students and ensuring the requirements of professional bodies such as the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS). Students will be exposed to the same web resources and teaching of the MSc by university staff. They will also have the right to attend the graduation ceremony in UK at Sheffield Hallam University.

Mr. M.M.
