Diesel and Motor Engineering PLC (DIMO) supported the 'Nena Guna Thilina' voluntary project implemented by the welfare society of the Presidential Secretariat staff under the guidance of Lalith Weeratunga, Secretary to the President.

DIMO contributed to the Nena Guna Thilina project by donating a TATA City Ride bus, which was specifically modified to suit the project purposes. "We are proud to be a part of the Nena Guna Thilini project, we see this as an initiation to develop our future generations since reading is a habit that needs to be inculcated in every child and it can go a long way," said. Ranjith Pandithage, Chairman/CEO of DIMO on the company's involvement in the project.
'Nena Guna Thilina' is a project engaged in donating books to schools with poor library facilities around the country, mainly in rural areas. The uniqueness of the project is that it is a mobile service, where books are collected from Colombo and suburbs and distributed among the necessary areas. The project, which was funded by private donors, focuses on encouraging the habit of reading in children. |
