ArtWalk has previously explored avenues unchartered with models wearing works of art, performance pieces, exploration of different materials such as paper, foil and even pieces made of recycled items.
Lights, props, people and innovation are the core ideals that make up the experience that is ArtWalk.
Now in its fourth consecutive year- ArtWalk has become synonymous with fashion, art and above all, freedom of expression.
An original concept brought to life by Anjuli Flamer-Caldera and her team at the.creative.house ArtWalk is a platform for young designers and artistes to showcase their work in an educative forum.
This year will be no different. Moving even further away from convention, ArtWalk 2011 is set to take the stage on August 26 delving deep into the concept of ‘Free Space’. The aim is to transport the audience to a territory of their own making, through the work of the participants.
This enactment is yet another first in Sri Lanka, keeping in line with ArtWalk’s previous efforts. This concept allows for each experience to be distinctly personal for each observer, which will be shaped in part by creative aspiration and the rest, well that is up to the viewer.
ArtWalk creates a stage where artists can boldly present themselves and their work independently. This concept of freedom will prevail through to every aspect of the production, including the venue, which is yet to be disclosed.
