De Alwis who had the easy passage towards the final trounced Dissanayake by 6/1, 6/0 in a dominative final. De Alwis faced a tough fight only from Madusha Wijesuriya who challenged him by 6/3, 3/6, 6/2 in the semifinal.

Dissanayake though emerging as one of the most competitive players during the tournament failed to live up to his expectations in the final against de Alwis who outsmarted him.

Later on in the day de Alwis paired off up with Chinthaka Shaveen to clinch the Under-18 Boys’ Doubles title. They beat Asiq Weera and Aritha Weerasinghe by two sets but underwent a tough final before emerging champions.

The first set went on as 6/3 while the second set was poised to give the opening to their opponents though de Alwis and Shaveen sealed it by 7/5.

Second seeded Thisuri Molligoda won the Under-16 Girls’ Singles title after top seeded Shankari Thyagarajan decided to retire from the all important final. Molligoda also went on to clinch the Under-14 Girls’ Singles title when she overcame promising Nethmi Waduge in two straight sets by 6/0 and 6/2.
In the Under-14 Girls’ Doubles final Nethmi Waduge teamed up with Thewinu Dewaraja to beat Thilini Atapattu and Chalani Gunathilake by straight sets and win the title. Waduge and Dewaraja recorded 6/3 and 6/1 to seal the final.
