Nishan has been a star in academics during his career at Gateway College, spanning over 13 years. He achieved 11 A Stars at the IGCSE Examination. Mr. Srishankar, Nishan's father, thanks the school's Board of Directors, the Headmaster and all the teachers for his son's achievements and says that Nishan's success, without exaggeration is due to their untiring efforts and the frequent and direct interaction with his son. He also goes on to state that the Directors, Headmaster and the teachers are understanding and are easily approachable at any given time, during or after school hours to discuss the progress of his son’s school activities.
Mr. Srishankar is of the view that Nishan achieved these results due to the structured school curriculum and the examination process the school has from Primary to Secondary and that he selected the best "Educational Institution" in Sri Lanka for his son's education which is affordable and maintains the Sri Lankan culture. Mr. Srishankar also expresses his gratitude to the school for awarding a full scholarship during the year 2012/2013 for Nishan's Advanced Level studies.
Nishan is thankful to his Advanced Level teachers for coaching him periodically with classes during the vacations. He says that the individual attention he received helped him immensely to achieve the 5 A Stars at Advanced Level.
