The Deaf Six-a-side Softball Cricket tournament for the Sri Lanka Central Federation of the Deaf Trophy, is to be held on December 4 (Sunday) at the G.H. Buddhadasa Stadium in Pelawatte from 8.30 a.m.
This tournament is being organized to mark the World Disabled Day which falls on December 3 each year. The deaf associations which are affiliated to the Sri Lanka Central Federation of the Deaf participating on a knock-out basis are defending champions Matara, Kalutara, Colombo, Kurunegala, Ratnapura, Kegalle, Galle, Gampaha, Anuradhapura and a few others.
This event is organized by Sri Lanka Deaf Cricket Association where the deaf cricketers play a leather ball tournament in Division III, conducted by Sri Lanka Cricket.
The champions and runners-up will receive the trophies and cash awards. Special awards are also on offer for the best batsman, best bowler and man of the series. Entry form can be obtained from the secretary of Sri Lanka Deaf Cricket Association. Entries close on November 27. |
