Signal recently held its 16th Sina Bo Wewa camp at the Town Hall Grounds in Kuliyapitiya with over 43,500 participants, Sri Lanka’s biggest ever dental camp bettering the 35,000 participants at Sina Bo Wewa Anuradhapura in 2008.
The camp was conducted in collaboration with the Sri Lanka Dental Association, the company said. More than 50 doctors and assistants conducted over 1800 screenings and 1300 treatments. In addition to conducting treatments and screenings Sina Bo Wewa also aims at educating students and the community on oral health such as good habits that help maintain oral health, oral related illnesses etc, through interactive events.
Speaking about the event Nilushi Jayatileke, Category Head of Oral Care & Deodorants at Unilever Sri Lanka said, “We are very proud to have hosted the largest ever dental camp in Sri Lanka. The growing success of each Sina Bo Wewa is testament to the fact that Sri Lankans are becoming more concerned about their oral health which is a positive step towards eradicating caries and preserving the famous Sri Lankan smile.”
