Indicted for handing weapons to the LTTE

The AG indicted Lt. Col. Ranjith Chandrisiri Perera who was attached to the Ratmalana Army camp. The accused is charged with having issued a micro type pistol and ammunition to an LTTE cadre.
The case will be taken up at the Colombo Magistrate’s Court.

The suspect is charged with having issued an LTTE cadre on 15.5.09 or thereabout, with a pistol, 3 bullets, 69 rounds of ammunition of the .62 mm type during the Deyata Kirula exhibition.
He is also charged with providing the LTTE cadre with advice on carrying out his mission and providing him refuge.
