It is creditable to be ranked number one in either of the ratings which says that you are the best Golfer in the Club if you are leading the Gross standings and if you are ranked 1 in the Nett standings you are the best ‘Handicap’ Golfer in the Club.
Sachin has established himself as the best Amateur Golfer at the RCGC by leading both standings. The standings calculated as on November 12, 2011 are given below, but Sachin’s victories in the following weekends in the North East Monsoon Meet have certainly extended his lead from the rest of the field.
It is extremely doubtful whether Sachin could be pegged back in the Gross ratings, though Sachin is hotly pursued by Afflli Raheem who is probably the best handicapped Golfer producing good Nett scores consistently.
Reflecting on the usual Monthly Medal Rounds which are popular and attract a large number of entries as ‘week-end’ Golfers too participate and compete in several categories such as Seniors, Masters in addition to the A,B and C Divisions.
The competitions designed to cater to different age groups has created a lot interest and ensure healthy rivalry and keep all the Amateur ‘working Professionals’ on their toes healthy, wealthy and wise ! |
