Even after 34 years of his death, Elvis Presley continues to dominate the music industry. Last month, December 2011, Elvis has been nominated for Grammy Award for his complete 1956 masters, now re-released as a new five DVD box set in December 2011 to mark his 55th Anniversary with RCA Records. This is something unprecedented in the music industry.
Elvis has achieved Grammy status for several of his recordings, such as ‘How Great Thou Art’; ‘He Touched Me’ and several others while being elected into Grammy Hall of Fame as well. Elvis is the only artiste elected into four music Halls of Fame, others being, Rock & Roll Hall of Fame; Country Music Hall of Fame and Gospel Music Hall of Fame. Also, he has been elected into many other Halls of Fame, which are not directly affiliated to the music industry, such as the Playboy Hall of Fame.
In the meantime, to celebrate his 77th Birth Anniversary, which falls today - January 8, 2012, as usual, Graceland has arranged dozens of interesting events, while a 14 deck luxury cruise named Carnival Fascination will be setting off from Jacksonville, Florida on January 12, 2012 to Nassau, Bahamas, its voyage lasting till January 16, 2012.
This festival at sea will celebrate the King and let fans spend time with movie co-stars, some of the world’s top tribute artists and many, many others that knew Elvis at best.
