HR awards event this year

The Association of Human Recourse Professionals (HRP) since 2002 conducts its biennial awards presentation and this year for the first time the public sector is a new addition, in a bid to inculcate best human resource management practices in the country’s public sector.

This was stated by Ms Gayathri Chakravarthy, President, HRP at the launch of the HRM Awards 2012 held in Colombo this week. Thus, in addition to the 10 Gold Awards,10 Silver Awards and 6 Special Category Awards for the private sector, three special Gold Awards and three Silver Awards will be awarded to the public sector.

She said that this year too, AON Hewitt Associates, India, the largest human resources consulting and outsourcing solutions provider in the world, will be partnering the HRM Awards 2012. The event will coincide with a ‘Learning Conference’ that will focus on the best practices advocated in the HRM Awards as well as other topics of relevance with regard to human talent management in the present local and global context.

Ms Chakravarthy said that the conference would create a platform for business leaders, CEOs, CFOs and Human Resource Professionals and give them an opportunity to deliberate how HR creates sustainable growth for organizations.

She said that the conference sessions would provide discussions on multiplying value through employee brand equity, through high employee engagement and creating the workplace of the future, among other deliberations. She said that the technical sessions would discuss HR metrics for efficiency and effectiveness.
