The BOSCH state-of-the-art Service Centre was officially opened at a colourful ceremony featuring a traditional Sinhala music group led by Visharada Manoj Peiris who entertained the gathering of around 1000 guests including top level businessmen.

Bosch has been a major presence in Sri Lanka in partnership with Diesel and Motor Engineering Limited (DIMO) for more than 60 years now. Chairman of DIMO Ranjith Pandithage told the Business Times that the company has spent Rs.400 million to set up the environmental friendly service centre with a high roof providing better ventilation. He added that this is one of the largest BOSCH Service Centres in South Asia.

It has facilities to provide high quality, affordable state-of-the-art diagnostics, maintenance and repairs. The partnership between BOSCH and DIMO spans more than six decades, comprising everything from BOSCH automotive components to power tools and accssories, he said. As an expert workshop for all car makes and models – petrol and diesel, the BOSCH Service Centre is on top of today’s automotive technologies and guarantees optimal maintenance whenever the vehicle needs attention.

Fifty youth have been given training in Germany, Malaysia and India to handle any kind of repairs in Diesel or Petrol vehicles using most modern equipment and new technology, he revealed.
“At Bosch Car Service, you will find just what you are looking for: expert advice from continuously trained workshop staff, highest quality repairs and long lasting spare parts of proven BOSCH quality – all at affordable prices” Mr. Pandithage said. Services offered include inspections, maintenance and repairs, electrical systems, petrol injection and diesel technology, seasonal checks and air conditioning.
The BOSCH Diesel Centre is a part of the international diesel workshop organization of BOSCH, the leading supplier of modern diesel technology that leads the industry in development and original equipment for diesel systems.

Ramesh Kulkarni, Regional Manager BOSCH said that they plan to set up 10 more service centres countrywide. The BOSCH regional office in Chennai, India will provide necessary assistance including state of the art equipment and training for technicians towards this end, he added. The regional office also provides spare parts for vehicle repairs at the Bosch Car Service centre in Colombo.
The Centre proves its high performance through its qualification as a top specialist for diesel systems.
