A maiden century by diminutive all-rounder Sumedha Dissanaike was the highlight of the drawn Under-19 first XI cricket match between St. Sylverster’s and Royal Panadura which ended in a draw at Rangiri Dambulla Stadium. Hitherto, a left-arm spinner of note, Sumedha showed that he has come on by leaps and brands as a batsman hitting 101. Waruna Wijesinghe maintained his consistency with 51, while Harsha Madushan chipped in with 42. The Sylvestrians batted a massive 105 overs for their total of 285.
Kavindu Ashan turned in a fine all-round performance for Royal Panadura with a five wicket haul and a top score of 75. Spinners Mendis and Dissanaike bagged three wickets apiece.
