CMA Sri Lanka will join the Institute of Cost Accountants of India, Cochin Chapter for its first ‘CMA Indo Sri Lanka Students Conference’ titled ‘Pragathy 2012’ at the Gokulam International Convention Center, in Cochin India. The expected student turnover is around 1200. There will be case studies, business quizzes, paper presentations, cultural programmes and more for the benefit of the participants.
CMA Sri Lanka will be represented by a student delegation of 15, and selected students will make presentations at the conference. They will also participate at the panel discussion on ‘Euro Zone Debt Crisis – Impact on the World Economy – Is India / Sri Lanka safe?’
The Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICAI) (previously called the Institute of Cost and Work Accountants in India (ICWAI)) is the only recognized professional organisation and licensing body in India specializing exclusively in the field of Cost and Management Accountancy. The Head Office of the Institute is situated at Kolkata and operates through four Regional Councils and 100 chapters situated at important cities in the country and abroad. The ICAI has over 50,000 professionals as its members. The number of registered students in the institute exceeds 400,000.
The Cochin Chapter is one of the most vibrant chapters under the ICAI.
The Cochin Chapter was adjudged as the ‘Best Chapter’ by the ICAI in the year 2008.
