Trinity skipper Niroshan Dikwella scored his thousandth run and his team took almost all the honours in their match against Royal, yet Trinity had to be content with a draw at Asgiriya yesterday. Royal totaled a decent 236 on the back of a good knock of 76 by Isuru Gunatilleke and another of 56 by skipper Imal Liyanage.
Dickwella blitzed his way to 84 and sizable knocks from Lakshitha Dissanaike, Dinuk Wickremanayake and Ron Chandragupta helped the home team to a 40 run lead on the first innings.
Batting again, the Royalists succumbed to the wiles of off spinner Janishka Premasinghe who continued his rich vein of wicket taking.
