Sampath de Silva and Neomal Wickramasekera shone in the drawn ‘Mini Battle of the Blues’ between Royal ‘A’ and S. Thomas’ ‘A’ at Mt Lavinia yesterday.
Sampath cracked 151 while Neomal, who had a five wicket haul in the first innings, grabbed another three to end with a match bag of eight wickets and scored 36 runs as well.
Royal ‘A’ taking first lease of the wicket made a formidable 274 for 8 declared and S. Thomas’ ‘A’ resuming from their overnight score of 80 for 3 went on to make 235.
