A major schools sports association is in the red and as a result they have not even printed the fixtures list for the year. Nevertheless some officials are drawing big fat salaries and they are practically doing nothing for the salaries that they take. There are two such officials in the top pay bracket. Don’t you think it is time to get rid of them then at least the fixture books could be printed!
No place to work
There are desolate looks on the faces of IT officials attached to the Headquarters of a major sport. This is because various officials are occupying their offices and these computer guys have no place to work in. They are now walking about wondering what to do while these no good individuals have taken over their offices. Apparently they have been given these offices for being faithful to the big shots in the sport during the recent past.
On the blind side
Speaking about the same sport, a development committee has been formed without even the big wigs in the sport not knowing about them. The head of this particular body is now eyeing the big shot’s seat at the next AGM and has apparently already drawn his plans. This development committee has its roots in the districts but the closest to the sport is unaware of this committee. It could be appropriately said that this guy is working on the blind side.
So little in return
A major cricket ground in the South has made an income of Rs. 600.000. However when the accountants got to work it were revealed that to earn this amount that nearly Rs. 26 Lakhs has been spent. These amounts have gone to various officials entrusted to do the work. Officials are now wondering whether it is worth to spend so much while in return they get so little.
Ignoring deadline
All ongoing under 19 tournament games of a particular sport were supposed to end by February 28. As usual some matches have not been completed. However a top official has been going around saying that matches can be played even past the deadline. Sports officials are wondering how this guy can take such decisions when a deadline has been set.
Dollar chairs
There was hectic activity at two main cricket venues last week as two officials, one of them a girl, went out to count chairs that are available for major sporting events to be held in the country in the near future. Officials at the venues were shocked to see them counting the chairs.
One of the ground officials was heard saying: “Why send officials from the City to count chairs when all they have to do is give a phone call and ask the officials at the ground how many chairs are there at these venues. The real tale it seems that these officials counting chairs are being paid in US Dollars and they are making these trips just to earn their dollars. |
