The recently launched Sri Lanka Inventors Commission (SLIC) web site while providing benefits to the inventors offers unique opportunities to the industry as well, according to SLIC chairman Deepal Sooriyaarachchi, who says "this is a part of the our strategy of creating a conducive environment for inventions".
He said the website intends to showcase inventors and their inventions, help introduce inventors as technical problem solvers to the industry, introduce inventors to investors, businesses, and technical experts, provide a platform school level inventors to register their ideas, and as a resource centre as well" he added further.
According to media statement, the SLCI is inviting Sri Lankan inventors whether they have patents or not to register with the SLIC web site www.slic.gov.lk to reap a number of benefits. The site intends to show case Sri Lankan inventors and their inventions through this medium. They can provide details about their inventions, photographs, and even short video clips. If the inventors have their own web sites or web pages they too will be linked to this web site. |
