The Central Bank (CB) said on Tuesday that subsequent to the agreement signed between Sri Lanka Ports Authority and the China Merchant Port Holdings Co. Ltd, a sum of US$ 292.1 million has been credited to the US Dollar account of Government of Sri Lanka maintained at the CB.
No other details were given in the media release by the CB. The Hambantota port has been handed over on a long lease to the China firm.
