The American College of Higher Education (ACHE), which has been offering American-style education in Sri Lanka for nearly 30 years, was recently honoured as the Best Institute for American Standard Higher Education at the Global Business Excellence Awards 2025. The event, organised by the London Business Consultancy, was held at the BMICH in Colombo on 6 April. Established in 1995, ACHE has built a reputation as a pathway provider for students aiming to pursue higher education both locally and internationally. It serves as the international centre for Keiser University in Florida, USA, and is the only American education provider in Sri Lanka approved by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) USA to offer an American Associate Degree in Sri Lanka.
Students who enrol at ACHE can complete the first two years of their degree in Sri Lanka and then transfer to one of over 4,000 universities in the US or other countries. So far, more than 5,000 students have transferred through ACHE’s US Degree Transfer Programme to destinations including the US, Australia, Canada, and New Zealand. ACHE offers study options in areas such as Business, Psychology, Information Technology, Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Analytics, and Biological Sciences. In addition to transfer programmes, ACHE also provides local pathways for students to complete Certificate, Diploma, Higher Diploma, Bachelor's, Graduate, and PhD-level qualifications in Sri Lanka. The college's main campus is located in Dehiwala, with branch campuses in Kandy, Negombo, and Kurunegala, making education more accessible to students across the country. ACHE focuses on offering flexible, globally-aligned education that supports students’ personal and professional goals. It has received many local and international awards over the past three decades.
