There was relatively higher auction volumes totalling 5.95 million kg at the Colombo tea auction on account of the intervening holidays and the one – day restricted sale last week.
Overall the quality of teas showed no significant change. But there was better demand for Low Grown / Large Leaf teas, in general.
Activity was less for High Grown teas and a slightly lower trend except for the best available teas.
Volatility in the currency perhaps remains a concern. (SD)
