Colombo stocks saw some bargain hunting on Thursday after traders selling shares the day before, with gains on the indices closing a 4-day week. The markets are closed on Friday due to the Independence Day holiday.
Thursday morning saw some serious selling but traders were punting dear earning counters, stockbrokers said. The tide changed by midday.
It's more like a recovery, an analyst said.
The All Share was 12, 762.6 up by 178.58 points with S&P SL 20 up by 112 points to close at 4, 333.76 on Rs. 6.5 billion turnover.
