Prices were seen to have dropped at the Colombo Tea Auction this week where 5.76 million kg of tea were on offer with 2.18 million kg being Low Grown Main Grades and 2.16 million kg were High and Mid Grown Main Grades.
There was less general demand in the Ex-Estate catalogues. Better Western BOPs lost Rs. 50 to Rs.100 with select invoices holding firm. Bottom lower to a lesser extent. Nuwara Eliya BOPs were lower once again. BOPFs were difficult to sell. Better Udapussellawa BOP/BOPFs lost upto Rs.100; others declined by Rs.20 to Rs.50. A few Uva BOPs held firm on special inquiry; others declined Rs.50 on average. Best Medium BOP/BOPFs were irregular; except for a few select invoice, the others were lower Rs.50 and more. CTC BP1s were lower by Rs.50 to Rs.100. Selected PF1s maintained; others were lower by Rs.50 to Rs. 100. (SD)
