Samsung, touted as Sri Lanka’s No.1 smartphone brand and pioneer of E-sports in Sri Lanka, has announced the ‘Samsung Combat Arena 2021’, an E-sports gaming event and tournament featuring one of the largest prize pools in Sri Lankan E-sports to-date.
The event and tournament will be held at the One Galle Face Mall, Colombo on April 24. Gamers and fans from all around the island are welcome to compete in the tournament and participate in other activities such as Gaming stations, Samsung stalls, online and offline costume competitions and much more, the company said in a media release.
Samsung has been at the forefront of developing products and services for gamers and promoting E-sports in Sri Lanka over the years, as it was identified that the youth are very passionate about it. As a result, Samsung has successfully initiated and completed three large scale gaming competitions in 2020 alone with over 1000 participants from all around Sri Lanka and a staggering 175,000 people streaming the tournaments each time.
The ‘Samsung Combat Arena 2021’ has an prize pool of over Rs.1.5 million which includes Rs.500,000 in cash and over Rs.1,000,000 in gifts including Smartphones, Gaming monitors, Galaxy Buds+, Smart watches and more. Participants also have a chance to win an exclusive private screening of the “Mortal Kombat” movie which premieres in April 2021.
