Senaro Motor Company (Pvt) Ltd. is proudly celebrating 22 years of success and innovation in the Sri Lankan automotive industry. The company recently inaugurated its flagship Senaro Experience Lounge in Colombo and launched the highly anticipated Senaro Click 150 scooter, further cementing its position as a market leader. The dual event, held on January 30, 2025, at Senaro’s headquarters on Union Place, Colombo, was attended by prominent figures, including Mr. Kavinda De Zoysa, Chairman of the Bank of Ceylon.
Since its inception in 2003, Senaro has evolved from a motorcycle importer to a comprehensive automotive provider, now offering a diverse range of vehicles. A significant milestone in the company's journey was the acquisition of a manufacturing and assembly license from the Sri Lankan government. Operating under the Ministry of Industries' Standard Operating Procedure (SOP), this achievement underscores Senaro’s commitment to local manufacturing and its contribution to strengthening the Sri Lankan economy.
Senaro’s assembly operations began with the Senaro GN 125, a model that has quickly gained popularity and become a top-seller in the market. As a 100% Sri Lankan brand, the Senaro GN 125 has successfully competed with multinational brands, marking a notable achievement in the local automotive industry. The newly launched Senaro Click 150 scooter is expected to become a strong competitor in the growing scooter market. In addition, the Senaro Experience Lounge provides an immersive brand experience, allowing customers to engage directly with the company’s offerings and values.
Senaro’s commitment to local value addition, currently at a minimum of 30% for motorcycle and scooter assembly, aligns with the Ministry of Industries’ SOP. This initiative has also created numerous direct and indirect employment opportunities, contributing to the growth of the Sri Lankan workforce. Looking ahead, Senaro’s future plans include expanding into international markets, showcasing Sri Lankan engineering expertise on the global stage, and continuing to drive innovation within the automotive industry.
