Colombo bourse sees losses for the third straight day

The Colombo bourse extended losses for the third consecutive session on Wednesday as foreign investors resumed selling amid concerns over bleak outlook in emerging markets, analysts said.

The inaugural sitting of the 8th parliament failed to uplift the domestic investor sentiment and the wait and see approach of investors caused the indices to drop, they added.

The All Share Price index declined by 0.8 per cent to to end at 7,240.39 while S&P SL 20 index lost 0.65 per cent to end at 3,981.27.

Today’s losses were mainly due to  price declines in primary blue chips such as DFCC, Commercial Bank and John Keells Holdings.
