Colombo bourse shows midday gains

Colombo equities on Tuesday showed some returns by midday with analysts saying that retailers are active on selected stocks. They added that the uncertain political setting will play a large role in determining the market’s direction in the coming days. The All Share Price Index gained marginally by 0.05 per cent to show 7,258.637,258.63 with the S & P SL Index gaining 0.29 per cent by 12.35 am to record 4,048.93. The turnover for the day amounted to Rs. 1 million with the volume traded for the day amounting to 48.8 million by this time.
