Colombo equities emerge from bearish momentum

Colombo bourse at Wednesday's early trades seemed to emerge from the bearish momentum seen over the past two days which saw severe losses amid notable sell offs in blue chips, analysts said. The Benchmark All Share Price Index gained 0.59 per cent to show 7,274.26 as at 10.30 am while the S&P Index was also up by 0.56 per cent to stand at 4,005.28. Impact to the local equities, mainly from the Chineese economic downturn is likely  today, fuelled with the uncertain economic policies of the newly appointed cabinet, analysts added.
