Hemas FMCG, understanding that helping those at the frontlines of the fight against the COVID-19 outbreak is critical, donated a large quantity of Shield soap to the Navy General Hospital recently.
The medical and field staff, of the Navy General Hospital in Welisara which is categoriSed as a COVID-19 centre, is in the forefront battling against the disease, and continue to work tirelessly, knowingly putting themselves at risk to save lives.
Supporting the Navy Hospital is part of a series of initiatives undertaken by Hemas FMCG to provide all possible assistance to support the nation during this unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic, the company said in a media release.
Fiona Juriansz Munasinghe, Director Marketing, Hemas Manufacturing, said, “We are deeply committed towards supporting the nation, and to assist those who are in need, especially health workers and personnel in the frontline who are stepping directly into COVID-19’s path to aid the afflicted and help halt the virus’s spread.”

Previously, Hemas FMCG donated Shield hand sanitizer packs to officers-in-charge of the National Hospital of Sri Lanka, the Colombo North Teaching Hospital in Ragama and the District General Hospital, Negombo. Additionally, a large quantity of Hemas FMCG personal care items was also handed over to the Sri Lankan Army for use in the Quarantine Centres.
