Mobitel recently donated 7,500 face masks to a civil society organization and a prison under its CSR programme.
Mobitel Chief Marketing Officer - Sashika Senerath handed 5,000 face masks to the Samastha Lanka Daham Suwanda Foundation which aims to distribute the donated masks among schoolchildren across the island; while 2,500 face masks that were donated to the Colombo Remand Prison will be used by prison guards and inmates to curb the spread of infection as face masks are extremely effective in reducing the spread of the virus, the company said in a media release.
Mobitel has assisted many national level initiatives in curbing the spread of the COVID-19. Further, Mobitel and SLT partnered with the Manusath Derana to distribute 1 million face masks in Sri Lanka.
