The deadline for the implementation of new revisions introduced in Sri Lanka's 2016 budget for new company registration, annual licence fees and the payment for the cancellation of registration has been extended to June 31, Registrar General of Companies D.N.R. Siriwardena said.
He said S.R. Attygalle, Deputy Secretary to the Treasury, has directed the department in a letter on Wednesday to extend the deadline for these company payments which expired on Thursday March 31 to June 31.
Persons were seen standing in long queues from counters to the entrance of the Department for hours as Registrar of Companies staff rushed to finalize the surge of various applications that were presented by the public today as well (Thursday March 31). (Bandula)
