OPPO, the premium global smartphone brand, announced this week towards committing Rs. 1.2 million to the COVID–19 Healthcare and Social Security Fund.
At a meeting held on Wednesday at the Prime Minister's official residence at Wijerama Mawatha with Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa and Bob Li, CEO OPPO Sri Lanka AED along with other delegates, the company presented a cheque of Rs. 1.2 million to help the government fight this pandemic.
“The nation's healthcare departments are playing an active role in mitigating the effects of COVID-19 and providing their 100 per cent in this regard. In the current pandemic situation, which values commitment as well as competence, we appreciate the government officials who are playing their significant role to deal with the pandemic,” said Bob Li, CEO OPPO Sri Lanka AED.

A Sri Lanka Air Force Bell 212 helicopter belonging to the No. 72 squadron has crashed into the Madhuru Oya reservoir this morning, Air FOrce Media Spokesman Eranda Geeganage said.
Update: Five of the twelve passengers on board the bell 212 aircraft that crashed into the Maduru Oya today, have succumbed to their injuries, the SLAF said.
