Ravi Dias, retired CEO of Commercial Bank, is the new chairman at Seylan Bank.
The decision was taken at Wednesday's meeting of the Board of Directors after incumbent chairman Nihal Jayamanna's retirement from May 8. Mr. Dias will take over from May 9. It was earlier speculated that former Commercial Bank chairman Dinesh Weerakkody, now an advisor to the government, would be appointed to the top post.
Mariam Coralie Pietersz has been redesignated as 'senior director' from her earlier position as independent director, the bank announcement on Thursday said. - ENDS -
