The Sri Lankan rupee, which has seen some sharp falls in recent times, on Wednesday fell to a record low of 144.10 to the US dollar with dealers expecting the Central Bank to announce a hike in interest rates later tonight.
The banking regulator was due to announce its policy rates on interest for January after a meeting of the Monetary Board. - ENDS -
