A cabinet reshuffle on Monday morning drew mixed views from brokers on what impact it would have on the Colombo stock market, brokers said.
“My view is that it’s just a reshuffle of the positions while the policies are unlikely to change. In that sense, there is unlikely to be a major impact on the market,” one veteran director of a brokerage said.
Other brokers had different views with one saying that with so much negativity in the areas of finance, commerce and trade, any change would boost local investor sentiment.
“Depending on who is appointed to the key areas of finance, commerce and trade, I feel that some change would boost local investor sentiment,” he said. (DE)
